BioPetrol has developed a patented process for producing usable synthetic crude oil from sewage sludge and other biomass feedstock. The company is developing a process that synthesizes two different systems, resulting in a higher production of fuel oil. The end result is the on-site reduction of dry sludge volume from 100% to 5%. BioPetrol will give wastewater treatment plants (WTP) an environmentally sound and cost-effective sludge conversion system.

Carmel Biotech is working on three projects: (1) production of bio-ethanol from agro-industrial waste for efficient, low cost, and environmental friendly production of biofuel; (2) metabolomic products derived from pomegranate and seed oil as food additives for cancer treatment. Pomegranates contain antioxidants and anti- inflammatory properties; juice and seed oil can be used to develop anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory; (3) genomic of wilde emmer wheat and barley aimed at new wheat cultivars with higher grain protein content, new barley cultivars with lower grain protein, and new wheat and barley cultivars resistant to stripe rust.

Engineuity is developing an innovative process to produce standard diesel fuel from natural gas and carbon dioxide. This is a considerably less expensive alternative to production of diesel fuel from crude oil. The program objectives are to demonstrate a novel process to produce a synthetic diesel fuel with less than 15 ppm of Sulfur, by operating an innovative prototype reactor producing 100 kg/h of syngas. The process is more modular, more efficient and less expensive than existing ones.
