Prof. Yaman Tokat

Was born in 1959 in İzmir/ TURKEY. He got his medical degree at the Ege University Medical School, İZMİR. He also got his residency in surgery and his titles in the same place.
He is married and has one daughter.
He had his liver transplantation training in Cambridge / England under Sir ROY CALNE’S supervision.
In 1994 he started the liver transplantation program and in 1999 he started the first succesful living donor liver transplant program in TURKEY.  In 1992 he was appointed as the Professor of Surgery, till then he performed the highest number of liver transplants in Turkey. In 1995 he moved to İstanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital and Bilim University and he started a liver transplant program with his team. He performed more than 1000 liver transplants and trained many young surgeons. He gave more than 300 hundred lectures in Turkey and in different countries. He published more than 100 articles in wide known journals. He is currently working as the chief of liver transplantation in Florence Nightingale Hospital, İSTANBUL.

 

Dr. Adrian Reuben

Dr. Reuben is Professor Emeritus of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston SC, where he created and directed the Liver Service for 21 years.  Dr. Reuben was born, raised and educated in London, UK, where he obtained his medical degree, completed his Residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology (Guys Hospital, London) before completing a scholarship in the Liver Study Unit at Yale School of Medicine. He was appointed to the faculty at Yale (1981-1993) before moving to MUSC to establish a Liver Service and enhance the then fledgling Liver Transplant program.  During his period of laboratory research, he focused on liver fibrosis and regeneration.  Dr. Reuben's interests include all branches of clinical hepatology but especially Acute Liver Failure, Drug-Induced Liver Injury, Coagulation in Liver Disease, Non-Invasive Investigation of Liver Function and Disease, and Portal Hypertension, as well as Medical Humanities, History and Ethics

 

Prof. Gili Kenet

Gili Kenet is a pediatric hematologist, Professor and chair of Hematology department at the Sackler Medical School, Tel Aviv University, and the Director of the Israel National Hemophilia Center and thrombosis institute in Tel Hashomer, Israel.  Prof Kenet  has received her Medical Degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.  Her research projects have been focused on neonatal hemostasis, childhood stroke and pediatric thrombophilia, as well as the research of new therapy modes applied for people with hemophilia and severe bleeding disorders.  She was awarded national grants for pediatric hematology and cancer research, study of rFVIIa mode of action, epidemiology of inhibitor evolution in hemophilia  and for personalized tailoring of bypass agents' therapy, applying global hemostasis assays.

Prof Kenet is the author of over 150 manuscripts published in high impact journals (eg: Circulation, blood, the lancet, the NEJM, thrombosis and hemostasis) , as well as several chapters in books.  She is an active member of the World Federation of Hemophilia, Israeli Society of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, and the American Society of Hematology, an active reviewer for high impact thrombosis journals and an editorial board member of the Hemophilia journal. She chaired the Israeli Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis, and has chaired the Pediatric and Peri-natal Hemostasis Scientific Subcommittee of ISTH. She is married, has 3 children and apart from many manuscripts has published one Hebrew poetry book.

 

Prof. Andrew Vaillant

Andrew Vaillant, PhD, is Chief Scientific Officer. He is the inventor of Replicor’s NAP technology. He directs all technology assessment as well as all research and development activities at Replicor. He is also responsible for all internal and outsourced scientific, manufacturing, regulatory and intellectual property activities. He also plays an active role in the design, conduct, data analysis and oversight of clinical trials. He previously held positions at two Montreal-area biotechnology companies. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Montreal Neurological Institute and holds a Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Cell Biology from the University of Ottawa

 

Prof. Sven Francque

Prof. Dr. Sven Francque obtained his MD at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 1994 and was subsequently trained in internal medicine and in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Antwerp University Hospital, Belgium and at the Department of Hepatology of the Beaujon hospital, Clichy, France. He has a long-standing interest in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and conducted basic research focusing on the vascular changes in steatosis and their contribution to disease progression and leading to his PhD in 2011. His research unit continues to study pathophysiological mechanisms of NASH. He is also conducting clinical research and his unit is partner in several research consortia supported by the European Commission. He participates in several clinical trials in the field of NAFLD and is senior clinical researcher for the Research Fund of the Flemish government. He is currently chairman of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the University Hospital Antwerp and professor of medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp.
