Simon Stolp has had a distinguished career working in some of the most politically volatile countries in the Middle East. From 2004 until 2008, Simon worked in Iraq for the Australian Government on secondment to the US Department of Defense Program Director. His role was to manage the investment of US $5.5 billion in the reconstruction of the Iraq electricity sector. While in Iraq, Simon was appointed the World Bank's Country Manager, working directly with Ministers of the Government to manage the International Compact and arranged $60 billion in debt relief for the country. Simon has received several significant awards for his diligence, service, and achievements including a Joint Civilian Service-commendation Award from the US Department of Defense, which is usually reserved for US citizens only. Currently, Simon serves as the Senior Energy Specialist at the World Bank in Washington, DC.
