Barry graduated law from the University of Toronto in 1967 with a string of academic awards and prizes; was called to the bar in 1969 standing second in his class; and received his Queen’s Counsel in in 1982. Prior to joining Greenfield, Barry practised law in Toronto for 37 years as a senior litigation counsel, dealing principally with commercial disputes.
He has been a member of GreenField’s Board of Directors for the past 20 years; and 9 years ago joined the Company to assume the position of Vice-President of Business Development.
His responsibilities include heading up GreenField’s cellulosic ethanol division and other ‘green-based’ Gen2 initiatives.
His immediate focus is to commercialize GreenField’s superior process and equipment pre-treatment package for the production of cellulosic ethanol and other advanced biofuels and chemicals.
